Locker Building, completed in 2021, is our second building in the master plan to rejuvenate the The Country Club’s historic Oval, following our completion of The Stables, the Club’s fitness center, in 2018. The Locker Building consists of three structures: the original Lockers Building constructed in 1915 to frame the Oval and to provide locker facilities for men, the Golf Building constructed in 2003 to provide bag and retail storage, and our new building, constructed in 2021 to join and integrate the two original buildings in a single universally accessible facility.
The project provides improved lockers facilities for men and
for women, a new members’ Bar, improved office facilities and retail storage and comprehensively renovates and restores
the original structure while updating all building systems.
The original buildings are linked in a series of additions on
the west side, which are massed and detailed to extend the logic of the original building and create a new courtyard facing the golf course. On the east and south sides, the original building façade is enlivened with new fenestration expressing its more public function and an expanded accessible terrace facing the 18th green.
