This major expansion of the Academic Building by the addition of the Science, Mathematics & Library Center provides 33,000 SF for the teaching of science and mathematics, independent studio spaces for innovation in engineering, an expansion of the existing library with a Reading Room, a Seminar Room dedicated to the study of science and ethics, a computer lab for mathematics and science, and an open study for collaborative student work. Like the Arts Building which extends the campus plan along the riverfront, the Science, Mathematics and Library Center frames the campus on its east side, encloses it along the route 128 right-of-way, and incorporates St. Bartholomew’s Church in the overall campus plan. In 2019, we developed studio spaces included in the original program for independent work to create a new Innovation Lab.
