A new hockey rink building designed to replace an existing building enclosure while retaining the existing ice sheet was constructed in 1997 with new locker facilities and public accommodations. In 2000, RO+A designed a new Arts Addition joined to the Hockey Rink to create a new edge for the campus along the Charles River and frame the athletic fields with academic activity, to make evident the School’s commitment to cultivating all the abilities of each student, and provide new opportunities for community. The conjunction of the arts with the athletic facilities brings students of different outlooks and talents together at the same part of the campus during the afternoon hours after the academic day.
